400 weeks of non-stop music: the story behind ODB Radio
What once started as a Facebook music blog grew into a playlist with 400 editions, its own sub-brand and relevance to our agency.

Many people know (or don't) know it by now, but ON A DAILY BASIS started out as a music blog. In 2012, we launched a Facebook community where we shared new tracks every day: soulful hip-hop, RnB, house, future beats, as long as it had feelings. Music as a starting point, community as starting point.
Not much later, the blog grew into a site and a series of club nights of its own. We had a team of regular bloggers and something went live every day. The red thread? Soul. Whether that was in a beat, a voice, or a blog post, that feeling was (and still is) in our DNA.

From a music blog to building brands
In 2017, our course changed. We found the nightlife to be too one-sided and were increasingly inspired by collaborating with brands. Through our blog and events, we've already worked with parties such as Sony, Bose, Jameson and Ben-G — and that collaboration tasted like more. We wanted to understand what drives brands. How they stay relevant. How to really connect with a target group.
Meanwhile, we had gathered a network of creative creators around us: designers, photographers, videographers, all people we met through our own events. That became the basis from which we started as an agency. We rented a space in the Volkshotel and just started. We are now years later, and we are still building ODB every day.
ODB Radio: over and over again every week
Music is still an essential part of who we are. That's why, on June 4, 2017, we launched ODB Radio: a weekly playlist on Spotify with 30 tracks, selected by Pim. To run at the office, on the road or just on the weekend.
This week we are at edition 400 (!) arrived. That's almost eight years of weekly playlists, without missing a single week. And always for the same reason: discover, share and connect with new music.


ODB Radio is more than just a playlist
It has now grown into a fully-fledged sub-brand. A place where music, people and brands come together. ODB Radio is our creative playground, and at the same time our proof of concept. Because as an agency, you can say you understand how to stay relevant, but if you don't build anything yourself, what do you actually have to say?
With ODB Radio, we organize events, give talent a stage and build a community. For and with the new generation.

On Saturday, May 10, we will celebrate it together
To celebrate ODB Radio's 400-week anniversary, we're hosting a drink at ODB HQ at Leidseplein 33-2 in Amsterdam on Saturday, May 10.
With art by Zeeger Carpaij, drinks from STELZ, and, of course, music by ODB Radio. From 14:00 to 18:00, we toast to many more great weeks, collaborations and new energy.
